As we close out April, we're excited to see your ideas coming in for the GREENIN Feasibility Study Funding Call and look forward to reviewing proposals in May.
This month, we were delighted to welcome two GREENIN Mini Fellows from UCL to the University of Surrey, further strengthening collaboration across our network and bringing fresh perspectives to indoor greening and indoor environmental quality.
We also invite you to stay connected by joining our next GREENIN Lunch & Learn Webinar. We hope many of you will be able to take part in the discussion and continue building momentum around healthier, greener indoor environments.

Final Call: GREENIN Feasibility Study Funding
Deadline: 30 April 2026
30 April is the final day to submit proposals to the GREENIN Feasibility Study Funding Call.
This funding opportunity is exclusively available to participants of the GREENIN Sandpit Workshop, held on 12 March 2026. Successful projects will receive funding to support innovative research and practical solutions in indoor greening, environmental quality, health and wellbeing.
Applications must be submitted via the online application form before midnight on 30 April 2026.
We look forward to reviewing all submissions and announcing the successful projects in due course.

Welcoming GREENIN Mini Fellows to Surrey
We were delighted to welcome two GREENIN Mini Fellows from University College London to the University of Surrey:
Jorge Ignacio (Ji) Soto
Hangchuan Wei
Both visited Professor Prashant Kumar as part of their GREENIN fellowships.
Ji's research explores how indoor plants and microbial communities interact to influence indoor environmental quality, while Hangchuan's work combines architecture, computational design and microbiology to better understand indoor microbiomes.
These visits strengthen our growing collaboration with UCL and demonstrate the important role of early-career researchers in advancing interdisciplinary approaches to healthier indoor environments.

Have Your Say on Greener Streets and Homes
As part of the GP4Streets project under GCARE, we are running two online surveys exploring greening at home and on our streets.
One survey is designed for residents and community members involved in gardening or DIY greening, while the second is aimed at professionals working in greening, air quality, climate, health and related fields.
Your responses will help shape practical guidance for greener, healthier and more climate-resilient neighbourhoods.
Taking the Urban Greening 'How To' Toolkit Global
Building on the original Urban Greening 'How To' Toolkit developed through the RECLAIM Network Plus, we have co-created three international versions for Ethiopia, Malawi and Nepal.
Working alongside local partners, each toolkit provides practical, evidence-based guidance for planning green-blue infrastructure suited to local urban environments.
Supported by Official Development Assistance (ODA) funding from the University of Surrey, this work extends the global reach and impact of the toolkit through international collaboration.
