As we look ahead to the Easter break, we would like to wish you all a restful and enjoyable time with family, friends, or simply some well-earned downtime.
March has been an exciting and productive month for the GREENIN Micro Network Plus. In this newsletter, we are pleased to share highlights from across the network, including the successful delivery of our first GREENIN Sandpit Workshop and inaugural Advisory Board Meeting, upcoming webinars, new funding and PhD opportunities, collaborations with our sister networks, and the latest resources supporting healthier indoor environments.

GREENIN Sandpit Workshop
We are delighted to share that the GREENIN Micro Network Plus Sandpit Workshop was successfully held online on 12 March 2026, bringing together researchers, industry professionals, policymakers and community partners from across the UK.
The workshop created a collaborative environment for participants to develop innovative ideas focused on indoor greening, environmental quality, health and wellbeing. Through themed breakout discussions covering Indoor Environmental Quality, Monitoring and Modelling, Health and Wellbeing, and Optimisation and Strategies, attendees co-developed research concepts that will now progress into feasibility study proposals.
Led by Professor Prashant Kumar, the event demonstrated the value of multidisciplinary collaboration and highlighted the potential of indoor nature-based solutions in addressing future environmental challenges.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the success of the workshop and look forward to supporting the next stage of GREENIN-funded feasibility studies.

GREENIN Advisory Board Meeting
We were pleased to hold the inaugural GREENIN Advisory Board Meeting this month.
The meeting brought together an outstanding group of experienced board members whose expertise will help shape the strategic direction of the network. Their thoughtful advice, constructive discussions and continued commitment provide a strong foundation for GREENIN as we move into the next phase of activities.
We thank all Advisory Board members for their valuable time and ongoing support.

Sister Network News – BreatHE IN
Congratulations to our sister network BreatHE IN on the launch of their new website.
BreatHE IN is also inviting researchers, practitioners, industry partners and community stakeholders to participate in its upcoming in-person Sandpit on 29 April 2026, focusing on the diagnosis and monitoring of indoor environments.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 13 April 2026.

Both projects are supervised by Professor Prashant Kumar and focus on improving air quality and health through innovative nature-based solutions.
University of York Funded PhD Opportunity
The University of York is offering a fully funded PhD studentship investigating indoor air quality within residential environments.
The project combines experimental measurements with modelling techniques to improve understanding of indoor air pollution and support healthier indoor environments.
Free CPD Courses on Green, Blue and Grey Infrastructure
Seven free online CPD courses developed through the RECLAIM Network continue to be available.
The courses explore how Green-Blue-Grey Infrastructure can help address key environmental challenges including:
Air pollution
Urban overheating
Flooding
Noise pollution
Biodiversity loss
Carbon storage
Mental health
Participants can complete the courses at their own pace and receive a certificate upon successful completion.

Invitation to Contribute to the GP4Streets Environmental Expert Questionnaire
The GP4Streets project is inviting environmental experts and practitioners to contribute to a short questionnaire exploring the impacts of urban greening on:
Air quality
Overheating
Flooding
Biodiversity
Health and wellbeing
Your expertise will help strengthen the project's evidence base and support the development of practical decision-support tools for healthier neighbourhoods.

Inaugural Conference on Regenerative Futures
The Centre for Regenerative Design & Engineering (RENEW), University of Bath, invites researchers, practitioners and policymakers to participate in its inaugural conference:
Regenerative Futures: Engineering, Design, Systems and Communities
Date: 2–3 June 2026
Venue: University of Bath
The conference will explore innovative approaches to regenerative design and engineering through interdisciplinary collaboration.
