Professor Nicola Carslaw

Professor Nicola Carslaw is a leading expert in indoor air chemistry, specialising in modelling chemical processes from sources such as cleaning products, building materials, and occupant activities. She led the £1.3M EPSRC-funded IMPECCABLE project (2020–2023) on indoor emissions and currently leads the £2.8M NERC-funded INGENIOUS project (2021–2025) on air quality, behaviour, and health in homes. She established INTERIORS, the UK’s first indoor air testing facility. Internationally, she chaired the INDAIRPOLLNET COST Action with 200 scientists across 37 countries and has received over €2.5M in funding from the US CIE Program. She was named a Fellow of the ISIAQ Academy in 2022 and elected as President-Elect of ISIAQ in 2024 (President from 2026).
