Prof Laurence Jones is a Group Leader and Thematic Lead for Urban Research at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH). His interdisciplinary research focuses on ecosystem services, spatial modelling, and the impacts of air pollution (nitrogen and ozone) on semi-natural ecosystems, alongside work in coastal ecology and shellfish hygiene. He leads a team of 17 researchers and collaborates internationally to assess and model the benefits of urban green and blue spaces for people and the environment.

With over 100 peer-reviewed publications and an H-index of 40, Prof Jones is a leading expert in ecosystem modelling and urban sustainability.
