Dr Zaheer Nasar is a Reader at Cranfield University with expertise in the physico-chemical and biological characterisation of aerosols, particularly particulate matter (PM) and bioaerosols across indoor and natural environments. His work focuses on aerosol dynamics, their societal impacts, and the development of effective control measures. He has investigated indoor and outdoor air quality, including airborne disease transmission and solutions for clean air in both developed and developing contexts.

Dr. Nasar leads an interdisciplinary research group focused on bioaerosol detection and analysis at Cranfield University. He is the institutional lead for the Biodetection Technologies Hub, which is funded by Research England. Additionally, he is a co-investigator on several projects, including INHABIT (MR/Z506680/1), DEFRAG (NE/W003031/1), and BioAirNet (NE/V002171/1). He also serves as an expert on the BSI EH/2/5 committee for emissions to internal environments.
