Dr Alana Kluczkovski is a Research Associate in the Department of Biology at the University of York, working at the intersection of indoor greening, sustainable food systems, and human and environmental health. Her research explores how plants and controlled-environment systems can improve indoor environments, support wellbeing, and contribute to more resilient and equitable built environments.
Alana operates Grow It York, an urban indoor growing facility used as a living lab to study the environmental, social, and educational benefits of indoor greening and controlled-environment agriculture. She has extensive experience in public engagement, co-designing educational resources and working with communities, schools, and policymakers to translate research into practice.
At GREENIN, Alana contributes to interdisciplinary research on greening strategies, climate resilience, and sustainable design, with a strong focus on real-world implementation and impact.
